I loved the Artist because. And Berenice Bejo and Jean Dujardin are the kind of actors that you can’t stop looking at, which is necessary since they aren’t audibly talking.

But lets be real it’s nominated because the Academy awards is a gigantic self-referential circle jerk. (Or to use my vocabulary word: a complete tautology). In the case of The Artist the self-referential jerk-off is pretty satisfying.
